Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Midway College shapes and inspires the lives of students in Kentucky’s only college for women and in coeducational undergraduate and graduate programs through a student-centered, global education that leads to rewarding careers and responsible citizenship.
In support of the mission, Midway College has an equine studies program in which students are educated on humane methods of horse management, horsemanship and training, as well as equine facilitated wellness. The program also has an emphasis on equine rehabilitation in which horses undergo rehabilitation for second or third careers.
The newest program in equine facilitated wellness will start Fall 2014 and will include physical, psychological and educational related human wellness as involved in applied equine partnering.
Finally, research in the area of applied learning and equine partnering to affect life skills in participants has been presented and published both nationally and internationally.
