Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization utilizes another organization or organization(s) with direct responsibility for the care of horses to provide its services.

100% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.


Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
HOOF KY provides disadvantaged, at-risk, and trauma stricken youth constructive activities that teach stewardship of the horse which develop trust, responsibility, respect, and self-empowerment. These attributes positively reshape the life choices they make.

Horse-related programs:
Horses Offering Opportunities for the Future, Inc.(HOOF KY) provides weekly summer equine academies for disadvantaged and at-risk youth, ages 9-18, in the Kentucky region. Each Academy can accommodate 30 youth and runs 5 days from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. <br /><br />Participants learn:<br />*Horsemanship/riding: Learn to lead, mount/dismount, guide, post,<br /> walk, trot, and canter (for advanced youth). <br />*Horse Management: Learn through hands-on experience to groom, bathe, <br /> feed,saddle/bridle a horse; tack use and maintenance<br />*Horse Education: Learn equine safety, equine history, conformation <br /> and markings, gaits, aids, horse physiology and psychology
