Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care of horses to provide its services.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
To protect, preserve, and rescue the historic Virginia Range wild horses in Reno, Nevada, by creating a safe and healthy environment where they can flourish and be embraced by an appreciative public for generations to come.

Volunteer Opportunities

Horse Gentling
Minimum Age: 18
The horses in our care were once wild on the range, and rescued at auction after being rounded up. We have many in various stages of gentling before adoption. Volunteers who wish to help with this rewarding work, do so in pairs, which includes slow trust building, giving the horse the right choice to make, without force.

Special Events
Minimum Age: 18
We hold many events through the year and always need help with planning fundraisers and campaigns, public awareness, raffle/auction donation collection, finding event sponsors, photography, videography, running information booths, etc.

On The Range Fencing
Minimum Age: 18
Keeping wild horses safe on the Virginia Range is a main focus. Fence repair and building is an ongoing need.
