Why are we a Messenger?

Equine Welfare Network Messenger

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization's primary activity is equine rescue, adoption & retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care of horses to provide its services.

80% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.

Our organization operates programs involved with horses and other animals.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Horse and Hound Rescue was created to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and rehome thoroughbred racehorses. We want to be the route to keep any race horse from the kill lots.

Horse-related programs:
We offer youth riding, overseen by our board members, and have had supervised handicapped riding (with the parents available).

Non-horse-related programs:
We have a hound division that takes in unwanted, at risk dogs. We offer a sanctuary for those dogs that are impaired (blind, deaf, handicapped) or senior.
