Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care of horses to provide its services.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Our mission is to improve the lives of equines by educating and helping owners, assisting law enforcement agencies, rehabilitating abused and neglected equines, and placing them into safe, permanent homes.

Volunteer Opportunities

Home Inspector
Minimum Age: 18
We people to help conduct pre-adoption, pre-foster and adoption and foster follow-up inspections. When you volunteer to become an inspector, we *add you to our inspectors list. Our inspection coordinator posts a list of inspections we need, and you can volunteer. She’ll then send you contact info for the person to be inspected as well as a worksheet to fill out.

Foster Homes
Minimum Age: 18
Foster homes are the generous people who open their hearts and homes to horses in need. Foster homes must complete a foster application, and after you send it in, we’ll do a home visit. We’re checking to make sure any place our guys go is safe, and a home visit allows you to meet one of us in person and ask any questions you might have. Once you are approved to foster, you’ll be added to our fostering email list and can volunteer when we post horses needing foster homes.

Foster homes pay for hay, grain, shavings, and part of each farrier visit. We pay/reimburse for any pre-approved veterinary care, supplements, and medications. We also reimburse for $10 of each farrier visit and for paste de-wormers.

If you aren’t familiar with rehabilitating a needy horse, we’ll mentor you. Fostering is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had!

Trailering
Minimum Age: 18
Volunteers with trucks and horse or suitable stock trailers needed to pick up horses from law enforcement/animal control, get horses to new foster homes, and get horses to events.

Administrative Work
Minimum Age: 16
We need volunteers with internet access and computer skills to help with things like data entry, placing ads on classified ad websites, and other administrative duties.
