Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
CANTER is dedicated to providing new homes for Thoroughbred racehorses that are non-competitive or injured on the track, giving them opportunities to find placement in a non-racing career and forever home. CANTER steps in during a literally life-or-death situation for many thoroughbreds whose future before CANTER was uncertain. Most horses leave racing at the young age of 3 or 4. Because of CANTER they now have the opportunity to live another 20 years.
