Our organization is not directly responsible for the care of horses.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Animal Protection of New Mexico is a statewide nonprofit organization that advocates the rights of animals by affecting systemic change which results in the humane treatment of all animals.

The Equine Protection Fund is New Mexico’s first statewide equine welfare and assistance program. The Fund offers subsidies to needy, conscientious families with equines to assist with feed, veterinary care, humane disposition, and career retraining.

Temporary and permanent re-homing of horses, transportation, and services (including veterinary, equine care, farrier, carpentry, and equine rescue facility volunteerism).
