Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Boys & Girls Haven shelters, heals and teaches struggling young people to become productive and healthy members of our community.

The Equine Program supports youth and young adults who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or homelessness by providing: therapeutic vocational training to participants who lack the basic job, interpersonal, and coping skills to be able to maintain employment; and equine-assisted psychotherapy to children and youth who have experienced severe trauma. The Equine Program conducts its activities on our Louisville campus with the aid of three staff and four horses.
