Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Our Mission is three-fold. To be first responders and a resource to horses and livestock in cases of abuse and neglect. To provide those animals a sanctuary where they will be treated with diginity and love as they prepare for new lifelong home.To serve at risk and medically fragile children through structured equine experience opportunities.To become a resource to low income families, unable to continue to care for their equine and livestock animals; offering rescue rehoming services when possible.
Mailing List AdministratorMinimum Age: 15Update and manage the rescue database mailing list. This requires ability to use web based computer software and type accurately. You must be able to communicate professionaly via email with other rescue volunteers. This opportunity requires a commitment of approximately 1 hour per week.
Online Classified Ad ManagerMinimum Age: 15We are seeking an equine experienced volunteer who is able to write compelling and engaging advertisements to promote adoptable equidae with Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary. We specifically seek someone able to manage our rescue account in Equine.com. This volunteer role will take approximately 2 hours per week. This requires a computer, ability to communicate professionally via email, web based computer software, and ability to write with correct grammar and punctuation.
