Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Human Interpersonal Service, AKA The Colorado Therapy Horses/Wounded Human Project, is a nonprofit charitable foundation using a herd of horses to teach humans how to deal with and control caused by fear. Getting the humans out of the sterile therapy office onto the farm in a setting where trained horses can empower them. We offer FREE counseling to Veterans with PTSD, abuse victims, cancer survivors, substance abuse & specializing in family therapy. Also, give injured or retired Warmblood horses new jobs \"healing the human heart\" after show career.
Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation): Public Service
Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.
Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Human Staff AssistantMinimum Age: 16Human Staff Assistant helps the human clients enjoy their experience with our "Staff (horses) in the pasture" in a fun and safe manner. This is done by partnering with the human client and the horse in various activities, teaching Natural Horsemanship ground techniques.
Community Service VolunteerMinimum Age: 13A position for those who need "Useful Community Service" as ordered by the Courts for consequences as a result of breaking the law. We are certified non-profit that provides a venue for meaningful community service.
Feeding & Staff Care AssistantMinimum Age: 14Helps our paid staff feed and care for the herd of 16 warmblood horses daily. This requires feeding, cleaning stalls, exercising and general grounds maintenance. Times are 8:00 am to 10:00 am & 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
