Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals with MS, and advance research to benefit all with MS.rnrnThe center is part of Stony Brook Long Island Childrenâ€™s Hospital and the Stony Brook University Neurosciences Institute.
Our center provides the opportunity for individuals with MS to enhance their quality of life with a therapeutic horsemanship program. Through funding obtained, this program is offered at no charge to participants, many of whom have spoken of their increased confidence and a renewed ability to overcome MS-related muscle pain. This testimony, along with others, confirms our mission of improving the quality of life for those with MS.
The Lourie Center for Pediatric MS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization under the umbrella of the Stony Brook Foundation (SBF). rnrnThe Center is eligible to receive grants as a subordinate of The Research Foundation of the State University of New York (SUNY).
