Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Hidden Acres is dedicated to improving the minds, bodies and spirits of children and adults with physical, developmental and emotional needs through equine-assisted activities.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

95%% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.

Volunteer Opportunities

Fundraising And Event Volunteer
Minimum Age: 14
Our Hidden Acres Volunteer team works together to create fun events that bring awareness to the work we do and raise funds to support therapeutic riding programs and equine-assisted activities. Small time commitment with great rewards. Bring your enthusiasm, energy and ideas to help us make every effort a great success.

Garden Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Hidden Acres is looking for gardeners interested in helping us create a therapeutic garden. The garden will include plants that enhance the sensory experiences such as colors,scents and textures along with a variety of vegetables. All experience levels are welcome to join this fun project.

Program Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Hidden Acres Program Volunteers are part of the therapeutic riding team. They provide support as sidewalkers and horse leaders and also assist with horse and stable care, unmounted activities and special events. No previous horse experience is necessary; we provide full training.

Barn Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Hidden Acres Barn Volunteers support the program and Hidden Acres Farm through the care and maintenance of the barn stalls, paddocks and other facility projects. No experience is necessary; we will provide full training.
