Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Prospect Mountain Therapeutic Riding Center was formed to enhance the lives of persons with physical, intellectual or psychological challenges through equine assisted programs, family support exchange, education and diverse community partnerships.


Volunteer Opportunities


Schooler For Horses
Minimum Age: 18
Do you know how to school a horse: side pass, leg yield, collection and manners? If so would you like to become a schooling volunteer for the therapy horses? hours will be discussed as to how many hours you need.

Horse Leader
Minimum Age: 13
Needing persons that want to learn more about horses and become leaders for the children to ride in their therapy sessions. 2-3 hours a week

Quick Books Help
Need someone who can help instruct and get us started on the right way to use quick books.

Side Walker
Minimum Age: 13
Needing persons willing to volunteer 2-3 hours a week to help children stay in the saddle safely. No experience required-we can teach all needed.


Wish List Items


Tractor
that can haul round bales of hay and help with grounds maintenance and building.

Alfalfa Hay
We have 13 horses that require hay that can keep the healthy and fit. The 3X3X8, 4X4X8 or even the smaller bales are great.

Arena Cover
The children miss almost 50% of their therapeutic ride time due to inclement weather. Please can You help us cover the arena?

Sponsorships Students Or Horse
There are so many children that want and need to be a part of this wonderful therapy but with finances at home the children miss the opportunity.
