Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization's primary activity is equine rescue & adoption.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Haven Acres exists to rescue animals, serve youth and their families through mentorship, and demonstrate God’s love.

Haven Acres takes rescued or adopted horses and rehabilitates them for use in our mentorship program. If the horse is unfit for the program after being rehabilitated and/or retrained, Haven Acres may rehome or retire the horse. Our ranch is a safe place for both unwanted animals and at-risk youth.

Volunteer Opportunities

Minimum Age: 16
We could use a couple of photographers to take pictures during the summer sessions. We also need some updated pictures taken of our horses and volunteers.

Minimum Age: 18
We could use a few more mentors to work with the kids in our summer program. Mentors must apply online and pass a background check. Additional information can be found on our website at www.havenacresmn.org

Wish List Items

we are looking to build a round pen in the spring. Our new property didn't have one set up. We already have the panels, but we need additional sand.

Heated Water Buckets
We could use several heated water buckets as the automatic waterers have been freezing in the sub zero temps this winter.

Manure Rakes
We have been breaking our metal manure rakes this winter chipping manure out of the snow and ice here in Minnesota.

Round Bale Feeder
We occasionally need a round bale feeder and/or round bale hay nets to safely feed our horses.

Abetta Saddle
We're always looking for gently used Abetta saddles as they seem to fit the horses well, and they are lightweight for the kids to handle.
