Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Refuge Ranch Ministries' mission is to work together with like-minded organizations and people to rescue at-risk horses and to educate the horse community to provide a quality life for equines everywhere.


Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization's primary activity is equine rescue, adoption & retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

75% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Volunteer Opportunities


Student Session Mentors Needed
Minimum Age: 18
We are seeking loving adults to partner with us to mentor at-risk youth (ages 4-17 years). Student sessions are located in Byron, MN and run 4x/month May - September for 90 minutes each. Sessions may include hands-on horse time, grooming, riding, bathing the horses, hand-grazing, liberty work, tack cleaning, painting the horses, reading with the kids, crafting, gardening etc. all while listening to the student and providing a safe space for them to talk.
