Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
To provide non mounted horse therapy mental health services to children ages 6-12 who have experienced trauma, profound loss and adjustment issues. A psychologist working with an equine partner and individual child, parent and volunteer horse helper work together as a team to help a child transform trauma into increased resiliency. The process combines love [from the horse herd] and science [from psychology] to empower the child in the direction of positive growth and change over trauma.
Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation): Public Service
Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs. Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
