Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The Mission of Harmony Acres Equestrian Center to to create a place where people and animals can come together for the purpose of healing. Our Equine Therapy programs, including therapeutic riding, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and educational programs, are a natural extension of our horses' desire to serve a purpose and offer love and wisdom to others.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization's primary activity is equine retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Volunteer Opportunities

Fundraising Assistant
Minimum Age: 14
Participate in weekly fundraising opportunities. Work with a fun team to sell items. Basic retail and customer services skills a great plus.

Horse Buddy
Minimum Age: 16
Team up with a favorite horse to provide extra care and attention. Spend time working with horse on ground with basic training skills, exercise, and turn out.

Horse Handler
Minimum Age: 16
Groom and tack horses for therapeutic riding sessions and educational activities. Handle the horse during activities and alert instructor to any problems or concern. Provide basic assistant to clients when needed.

Horse Care Assistant
Minimum Age: 18
Assist with horse care tasks such as cleaning pens, feeding horses, grooming, turn out, basic maitenance tasks.
