Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The Therapeutic Horsemanship program is conducted on campus at the SUNY Cobleskill Equine Center, a college of agriculture and technology with a degree program in therapeutic horsemanship. Students enrolled in the Therapeutic Horsemanship program receive course work in therapeutic riding instruction in a hands-on, client-based setting with the opportunity to interact with community volunteers, parents, teachers, therapists and clients, including young children, at-risk adolescents, adults with special needs, and veterans.
Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation): Public Service
Our organization conducts Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) in accordance with the EQUUS Foundation Guidelines on Qualifications of Organizations Conducting Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT).
Our organization provides community outreach and/or public education programs involving horses.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
