Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Parkwood Farms is dedicated to enriching the lives of physically, emotionally, and mentally challenged children and adults by offering a spectrum of therapeutic services in one, safe, and loving environment.


Volunteer Opportunities


Sidewalker For Therapeutic Riding Sessions
Minimum Age: 14
Sidewalkers assist riders with special needs during therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities. Safety is first; also assist with exercises, games, verbal interaction. Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Sunday mornings. New Volunteer Orientations monthly, schedule on website.

Fence Boards
Keeping the fences in good repair is a never ending battle between the horses and mother nature we are constantly replacing and in need of fence boards :)

Hay
With very limited pasture, we go through hay very quickly. Donation of bales of good quality hay would allow us to buy less and direct funds to other needs.
