Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
High Hurdles is dedicated to providing a safe and educational environment for horse assisted activities to individuals with or without special needs

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Volunteer Opportunities

Board Members
Minimum Age: 18
Our Board of Directors is a strictly volunteer basis. Board members are required to be 18 years or older, be available to meet once a month, are willing to help fundraise for the program and help to maintain a responsible governing body for the program.

Minimum Age: 18
Leaders work directly with the horses. Leaders are responsible for helping to maintain the horses natural gait, monitor the horse's behavior during a lesson and maintain the safety of the horses, volunteers and students involved in the lesson.

Minimum Age: 14
Sidewalkers walk alongside the horse to help maintain the students balance, focus and overall safety of the lesson. Sidewalkers must be able to work comfortably around horses, walk alongside the horse for a minimum of 30 minutes, and must be 14 years or older.
