Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Therapeion Therapeutic Center provides equine assisted programs for persons with disabilities, youth at risk, children who have been abused or neglected, and veterans. We serve Tippecanoe, White, and the surrounding counties.
Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center OpportunitiesMinimum Age: 18Our volunteer mentors are an integral part of the Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center programs. As a Therapeion volunteer you will receive training in safety, horse handling and grooming, behavior modification, and listening skills. You will also be receiving program specific training by an employee of Tippecanoe County CPS or another appropriate agency prior to working with our special riders.
Our volunteer mentors work alongside the Therapeion instructor, helping the youth and adults in our programs build competence, confidence, cooperation, and improve communications and learning skills.
There is no way to describe the rewards you will receive as a therapeutic riding volunteer mentor. Join the Therapeion team and experience the joy of helping others.
