Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The purpose of the Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School, Inc. is to provide persons with disabilities with an animal-oriented therapeutic, rehabilitative and recreational program that will contribute to their physical and emotional health. STARS utilizes the power of the horse to assist clients of all ages with many varieties of special needs.
Lead/Handler During Theraputic Riding ClassesMinimum Age: 14You walk along side the horses head leading the horse.
GardenerMinimum Age: 14Our flower beds outside the barn are always looking for some TLC. So if you like gardening/weeding we could use some help.
Spotter During Theraputic Riding ClassesMinimum Age: 14You walk along side the horse & rider, helping the rider(client) when needed.
Awards For ClientsEach summer we have a horse show where clients get to show off all their hard work. It would wonderful to present them with an award. 10-20 awards would be awesome.

Indoor ArenaOur equine assisted therapy classes have out grown our current indoor arena(80x60). We really could use an indoor arena almost double that size.
