Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Our mission is "Helping people overcome life’s obstacles through equine interaction."
Silver Lining Riding offers equine assisted therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities to people with disabilities including autism, ADHD, PTSD, Asperger Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy to name a few. In a world that gives them restrictions on what they can do, we give them freedom on the back of a horse. Sessions are designed to meet each participant’s specific needs, collaborating with parents, therapists and school teachers as necessary. Our riding programs are designed to assist in reaching the rider’s goals including core strength, increased speech, improved motor skills, increased attention span, decreased anxiety, and an increase in confidence which ultimately results in a better quality of life.
Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation): Public ServiceOur organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Our organization conducts Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) programs with instructors, specialists, counselors, trainers and/or facilitators who have certified training for their scope of practice applicable to the people participating in the programs and specific to the program offerings - serving as staff (full-time or part-time), as independent contractors, and/or as service providers, serving in a volunteer capacity, or accompanying clients when participating in our programs.
