Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Second Chance Ranch is a thoroughbred sanctuary in Washington State. "Leading With Horses" is an innovative platform for mental health professionals to utilize while engaging with clients in family and youth counseling. The equine facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) program is non-riding and in an environment that fosters social and behavioral growth and healing. Our horses provide an alternative to talk therapy, and demonstrate their exceptional capacity of teaching and healing abilities. Through collaborative efforts we address issues such as depression, PTSD, anti-bullying and suicide prevention for therapist and client to decipher, elicit and prove their healing and growth.

It is our belief that creative learning environments will put kids and young adults on the path to becoming tomorrow’s forward thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
