All Guardians are eligible to participate in our Guardian Auction Rewards program. The Guardian Auction Rewards program allows our Guardians to provide auction items for EQUUS Foundation fundraising events. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the auction item(s) are distributed back to the Guardian organization that donates the item(s).
It's a great way to generate more funds, and we encourage all our Guardians to participate in this optional program.
The EQUUS Foundation holds at least two major fundraising events annually at which there will be silent auctions. For specific details on our events, please CLICK HERE.
If you have appropriate auction items, please consider taking advantage of our Guardian Auction Rewards Program.
APPROPRIATE AUCTION ITEMS. . .
Regarding the auction items themselves, please understand that only in rare circumstances does an auction item sell for more than its retail value, and most items receive only one or two bids. We generally set the starting bid at about 50% of the retail value, and often this is the winning bid. Some donors require a minimum bid, particularly artists. We would prefer that you do not provide us with items where the donors require a minimum bid of more than 50%. If the item does not sell, you will need to arrange and pay for the return shipping.
Auction items include gift certificates or actual items, such as clothing, accessories, toys, books, jewelry, artwork, wine, home decor items, etc. Many of our donors frequent New York City so Broadway tickets, tickets to sporting events and special tours, and gift certificates at NYC restaurants can be very popular. Trips, including the donation of private homes in vacation spots, are also popular as long as there are not too many restrictions. If you are unsure of an item, please contact us.
SHIPPING. . .
Depending on the event and the time of year, the shipping addresses vary.
PLEASE DO NOT ship any item until you have received email confirmation from the EQUUS Foundation and DO NOT require a signature for delivery when shipping any item.
If the item is not sold, you are responsible to arrange and pay for the return shipping, or instruct us to retain the item for a future auction.
