Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Steps Up and Steps Out for Children & Horses!

WESTPORT, CT - March 4, 2014 - Since its inception, the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show has followed a mission that has importance far beyond the show ring - that mission is "Helping Children". Texas Children's Hospital, Houston's Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer and Family Alliance are the chosen charity partners.

Now, Pin Oak will also be helping to ensure the well-being of horses by signing on as a Best Performance Competition partner - the joint program of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and the EQUUS Foundation that gives horse shows and their exhibitors the opportunity to support horse welfare by doing what they do best - competing!

All horse shows recognized by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) at the national and regional level - large and small - are welcome to participate.

Week 1 - March 19-23, 2014
Week 2 - March 25-30, 2014

Presented by Haras Dos Cavaleiros and Irish Day Farm, the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is an award-winning multi-breed equestrian event. Honored as the first USEF Heritage Competition in America, a NARG Top 25 Horse Show three years in a row, USEF Favorite Breed Show in 2011, and most recently a 2013 UPHA Chapter Honor Show, exhibitors will enjoy the increased prize money in 2014.

Week I features American Saddlebreds, Andalusians and Lusitanos, Welsh Ponies, Hunters and Jumpers, and the growing sport of All-breed Working Equitation, including a 13 and under Division in 2014. The Andalusian and Lusitanos will celebrate their 10th year at the show with many exciting things in store.

With Hunters and Jumpers in all rings during Week II, equestrian athleticism abounds. Four Grand Prix Events are held over the two weeks of the show with $110,000 in Prize Money are always a fan favorite. Pin Oak is a World Champion Hunter Rider event, participates in the USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Program, and offers many Hunter Classics, Jumper Welcome Stakes, Gambler’s Choice, two $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies, and a $30,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. Pin Oak 2014 will participate in the Take2 program with a Hunter Division, host the 4th annual Collegiate Invitational, and so much more.

So much more than a horse show, Pin Oak donated $200,000 collectively in 2013 to the Texas Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms inside of Texas Children’s, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance in the Texas Children’s Cancer Center and hopes to present an even greater donation in 2014.
