Guests were treated to a champagne reception and the opportunity to browse the EQUUS Foundation Silent Auction of nearly 80 items, before enjoying an elegant luncheon and the exciting show jumping competition.

Of the 34 competitors, eight advanced to the jump-off ending with the last to go, Sydney Shulman aboard Quidam, claiming the victory. Shulman drove away in the second of two MINIs offered by Official Car Sponsor CallariCars.com courtesy of MINI of Fairfield County for winning back-to-back Grand Prixs at Fairfield and Ox Ridge. Lynn Coakley, Executive Director of the EQUUS Foundation, welcomed and thanked the guests before introducing the founder and President, Lynn Coakley, who recognized the Fairfield County Hunt Club for its long-standing support of the EQUUS Foundation.

"Now in our 12th year, the EQUUS Foundation has grown from a local non-profit serving a handful of charities to a national organization providing financial support and resources to over nine hundred horse rescues and equine therapy organizations across the United States," said Coakley.

Coakley continued, "For many of you in the audience who are equestrians, you already know that there is something very special about the connection that is formed between horse and rider. The impact of that bond multiplies ten-fold for people with special needs. Our mission is to make a difference in how horses are cared for and to make the magic and power of horses available to more people with special needs. Thank you for making it possible for us to have awarded close to $3 millin in grants to organizations dedicated to helping horses and healing people and operating at the highest standards."
