CORRAL Riding Academy gets a leg up from Hagyard Pharmacy

The EQUUS Foundation is pleased to announce that CORRAL Riding Academy has been selected as a recipient of the Hagyard Helps Horses program sponsored by Hagyard Pharmacy. An equine charity bearing the EQUUS Foundation Messenger designation is selected each quarter to receive a $500 gift card for Hagyard Pharmacy's Resolvet line of products.

"We applaud the EQUUS Foundation Messengers like CORRAL that demonstrate their commitment to public transparency through their willingness to publish and share extensive data about their programs, horse care practices, and governance," said Laura Riley, Director of Pharmacy, Hagyard Pharmacy.

Noel is one of 11 rescue horses at CORRAL who help teenage girls aged 11-17 in high risk situations experience healing and transformational life change with rescued horses and a loving community. Most participants have experienced significant trauma, neglect and/or abuse that has affected their emotional and mental health, and over 70% of participants live at or below the poverty line.

"Noel is struggling with hoof health and recovering from laminitis. The Hagyard products will help her heal and after she heals, keep her in top shape", said Founder and President Joy Currey.
Horses play a key role in the healing process at CORRAL. Often times, the horses are the spark for the change that is the first step in healing.

CORRAL's intervention program, consisting of horseback riding, vocational training, tutoring, equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), and mentorship, shepherds at-risk youth through their difficult teenage years and into college.

"At CORRAL, we believe that no matter where you come from, everyone has the ability to reach their full potential. Sometimes you just need 'a leg up in life' to learn how to overcome the struggles you have been faced with," said Currey.
