There are an estimated 200,000 homeless horses in the United States. In 2016, 130,000 were transported over the border and slaughtered for horse meat. Many were healthy and still had untapped potential - and none deserved this inhumane end of life.
The EQUUS Foundation is the only national charity in the United States solely dedicated to horse welfare and the horse-human bond.
