Will it be a Hoof or a Woof who wins the Hoof n' Woof Jumping Derby on June 22?

The miniature horses of EQUUS Foundation Guardian charity, Rising Starr Horse Rescue, will be competing against the adoptable dogs of SPCA Westchester at the EQUUS Foundation "Hoof n' Woof Jumping Derby" on Thursday, June 22, from 4pm to 6pm, during the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Horse Show, June 20-24. Join us for this complimentary event as guests of our event sponsor, Fairfield Equine Associates, to raise awareness that all animals bring us joy and need our protection.

Hoof n' Woof Jumping Derby

"We love being at the beautiful Fairfield County Hunt Club Horse Show, especially this year in celebration of our 20th Anniversary. We are always thrilled at the opportunity to showcase adoptable horses and our mission to keep all of America's horses safe at all stages of their lives — and to bring the joy and inspiration of horses to people!", said Valerie Angeli, EQUUS Foundation VP.

The EQUUS Foundation was born from the love of equestrian sport and the critical need to provide care to horses after their sport careers are over. "We held our first fundraiser at the 2003 Fairfield Horse Show and awarded our first grants to seven equine charities based in Connecticut and the metropolitan New York area", said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President. "Now in our 20th year, we support hundreds of equine charities nationwide, like Rising Starr Horse Rescue, that exemplifies what we are about and does the day-to-day hard work of keeping America's safe!"

The Hoof n' Woof Jumping Derby is just one of the free activities to enjoy including our hilarious Bouncy Horse Racing - a test of your balance and endurance skills. But -- most of all, it's great fun!

But that's not all! There will also be a horseless horse show and shopping at the horse show's boutiques in addition to watching the competition.

The Rider's Closet Donation Trunk, located in the Hospitality Tent, will be accepting donations of new and lightly used riding attire during the Fairfield Show starting on Tuesday, June 20, through Saturday, June 24.

The Rider's Closet provides riding apparel to individual riders in need, scholastic riding programs, pony clubs, equestrian camp programs and equine charities. All donations are 100% tax-deductible!

Founded in 2006 by Georgina Bloomberg, The Rider’s Closet merged with the EQUUS Foundation in 2019. Thank you in advance for helping us to support the equestrian dreams of deserving riders in need!
