National #HorseProtector Week Starts Tomorrow Through March 3rd!

National #HorseProtector Week starts tomorrow -- February 25th -- a week-long campaign to encourage all horse lovers to take the EQUUS Foundation #HorseProtector Pledge - and say "YES" - that America's horses deserve to live in comfort and with purpose and dignity throughout their lives.

"Throughout history, human civilization has advanced on the backs of horses, literally! It is tragic that horses have been our loyal partners in work, transportation, sport, war, and as companions and healers — and yet, many are abandoned and discarded to face an uncertain, and often horrific future," said Valerie Angeli, EQUUS Foundation VP Engagement.

By your taking this one step,
we can achieve extraordinary results together.

Most horses will have an average of 7 different homes and owners in their lifetimes. They depend on us to keep them safe.
National #HorseProtector Week

The EQUUS Foundation was founded 21 years ago by horse people to help protect the many, many thousands of horses in the United States that are at risk for abuse and neglect after their initial careers are over or after they change hands and "fall through the cracks", through no fault of their own.

Taking the Pledge is a promise -- an invitation -- a voluntary choice -- a call to action -- and a lifeline for horses in need of protection and for people who can benefit from the horse's unique ability to empower, teach and heal.
