For The Love of Horses, Kids, and Sunny Weather!
After over 15 weekends in a row with rainy, gloomy weather, the sun shined brightly on Saturday, June 20th, just in time to welcome summer and family day activities at the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Horse Show in Westport, Connecticut.
The EQUUS Foundation hosted crafts and games with the support of long-standing Corporate Partner, Fairfield Equine Associates. EQUUS Foundation Mentor Charity, Rising Starr Horse Rescue, based in Wilton, Connecticut, joined the EQUUS Foundation with their Miniature Horse Ambassadors to help raise awareness of the EQUUS Foundation mission - that America's horses enhance our lives and need our protection.

Children lined up to sit on hay bales shaded by the EQUUS Foundation and Rising Starr tents to paint, draw and bedazzle their own wooden horseshoes and were encouraged to be as creative as they cared to be. Face painting was also a big hit, along with a corn hole competition for young and old.
"It was a great summertime afternoon at the Fairfield June Show, and we loved sharing our joy and love of horses with kids of all ages on Family Day," said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President. "Of course, we hope to inspire young horse lovers to become future horse protectors, and we are thankful, as always, to Fairfield Equine for supporting our efforts on behalf of the horses we love that give us so much."

"We also wish to thank Fairfield for signing on as an EQUUS Foundation Horse Show Partner to promote our "From One Horse To Another" campaign, which encourages horse show competitors to voluntarily make a minimum donation of $50 to list themselves and their horses as EQUUS Foundation Equine Ambassadors," continued Coakley.
