We are seeking a Horse that meets the following criteria:
Age Range:Aged 6-9 Aged 10-14 Aged 15-20 Aged Over 20
Gender:
Geldings Mares
Size Preference:
Large Pony (13.3 to 14.2h) Any size pony Small Horse (14.3 to 15.3h) Large Horse (16.0 to 16.3h) Tall/Draft Horse (over 17.0h)
Temperament:
Must be calm, gentle and trainable for therapeutic lessons.
Activities that the equine will be expected to perform:
Horsemanship (grooming, tacking up & handling by individuals with disabilities)
Other (Please describe)
Other Activities:
Horse will be used for therapeutic mounted and unmounted lessons for riders with disabilities.
Other Experience/Training:
Each potential horse is evaluated for program suitability prior to adoption.
The organization has the following policies about horses who are sound and healthy but have the following chronic conditions that require medication:
Lyme Disease: Accept with financial assistance for medication
Cushing's Disease: Accept with financial assistance for medication
Thyroid Disease: Accept with financial assistance for medication
Navicular Disease: Accept with financial assistance for medication
Inflammation: Accept with financial assistance for medication
