Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The mission of Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center is to provide equine-assisted activities and therapies to individuals with mental, physical, social, emotional and sensory disabilities.
Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation): Public Service
Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Barn HelpMinimum Age: 14Stall cleaning, sweeping, filling/dumping water buckets, horse turn out; general cleaning in view room and/or volunteer lounge.
SidewalkerMinimum Age: 14Walking along side student during class. Primary responsibility is the studentâ€™s safety. Assists student to maintain balance, when they are unable to do so for themselves. Reminds student of tasks that are being asked of them.
Horse LeaderMinimum Age: 14Maintains control of the horse during class.
