Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
OUR MISSION : TO RESCUE AND REHABILITATE HORSES, AND HEAL THE WORLD WE SHARE!

Saffyre Sanctuary is a rescue and rehabilitation program that cares for horses that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. By allowing them to rediscover their true nature, we provide every opportunity for them to enjoy the possibility of enjoying a second career, or offer them a well deserved retirement, due to soundness issues, age, or owner hardships.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization's primary activity is equine rescue, adoption & retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Our organization conducts Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) programs with instructors, specialists, counselors, trainers and/or facilitators who have certified training for their scope of practice applicable to the people participating in the programs and specific to the program offerings - serving as staff (full-time or part-time), as independent contractors, and/or as service providers, serving in a volunteer capacity, or accompanying clients when participating in our programs.

Our organization provides community outreach and/or public education programs involving horses.

100% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer At Saffyre Sanctuary!
Whether you are a novice and want to learn about horses from the ground up, or an experienced horse person that wants to share your time and expertise, we can always use your help. Cleaning, grooming and natural horsemanship type ground work are what we do most, but we also need confident, qualified people who can provide riding assessments for our adoptable horses. A gentle demeanor is a must.

If you have always wanted a horse for yourself, but never had the people or the place to let you learn, well here is your opportunity. You will learn first hand about the best holistic care, feeding and handling of horses, some with very special needs. Volunteering for a horse rescue is something that comes from the heart. You must have a love and passion for horses, since you may not realize how much time and dedication this requires. As you work with these wonderful animals, you will be surprised how much you learn about yourself. Being around horses is the best therapy in the world.
