Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Hochoka’s Healing With Horses program provides transformational education and improves the health and wellness of a person or family unit.
Healing is specific to each individual and can take the form of physical, behavioral, mental, spiritual, and/or emotional processes. We also work with genetic healing, which focuses on healing events from our family which can create blocks to our growth. We are highly trained in crisis and traumatic events.
Participants learn:
-To communicate with respect and clarity;
-To process unpleasant emotions;
-Life skills;
-Self-awareness;
-Emotional intelligence;
-Integrity;
-Relaxation techniques;
-Empowerment/self-confidence;
-Responsibility.
The horses are a part of the program, however it is not a therapeutic riding program. Our program is curriculum-based.
Riding may occur after graduation, when this respectful relationship is established and riding skills are learned.
It is the mission of Hochoka is to provide facilitated programs for self-growth through animals and nature, to facilitate wellness as a way of life, and to assist others in being valued for their contributions to the community.
