Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation, Inc. (ERAF) is a Not-For-Profit 501(c)3 organization devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, re-education and adoption of abused, abandoned,neglected and slaughter-bound horses. We work closely with the Sheriff's Department and Animal Care and Control throughout South Florida.


Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization operates programs involved with horse rescue, foster care, rehabilitation, adoption and/or retirement.

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization's primary activity is equine rescue, adoption & retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

100% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.

Volunteer Opportunities


Barn Help
We have a need for Volunteers who can help with mucking stalls and pastures, cleaning water buckets and basic grooming.

Property Management
We have a need for Volunteers who can help with lawn and pasture mowing, gardening, basic repairs and equipment maintenance.


Wish List Items


Equipment Needed
John Deere Gator to use when feeding. We currently feed in 10 separate pastures and are fencing in another 8 acres to use for pastures.

Round Pen
We would like to have a round pen for use with our veterans and children's programs that we are setting up on our expanded property.

Feed Needed
Gift cards at Ranch Feed; Tribute feed; good quality orchard/alfalpha hay.

Supplies Needed
Paper towels, cleaning supplies and office supplies.
