Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The UNH Therapeutic Riding Program has a tri-partite mission: to give UNH students the opportunity for hands-on training in the field of therapeutic riding; to provide therapeutic treatment to individuals with physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities; and to create an environment which integrates members of the disabled and able-bodied communities.
Spring Program VolunteersMinimum Age: 15Spring program volunteers needed Mondays 2-4pm and Tuesdays 4:45-8 pm from March 31-May 6th. Must attend mandatory training on March 18th 5:30pm in the Light Horse Classroom on UNH Durham, NH campus.
Show ClothesWe need new or gently used tall or paddock riding boots, tan or light colored breeches, black riding gloves, white or light colored show shirts, and hunter style riding jackets for our Special Olympics competition team.
