Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
To improve the lives of people with disabilities through the healing power of horses. The Right Step uses horses as partners in therapeutic riding.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Volunteer Opportunities

Horses Helping People
We work 360 days a year with riders with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities ages 2-93 how to ride horses. We work on improving balance, strength, fine motor skills, confidence, decision making, social skills and so much more during each lesson. We need volunteers to help with Horse Leading and Side Walking in the lessons as well as much more outside of the lessons like office work, marketing, fundraising, etc. We host trainings the 2nd Saturday of every month 8:00-11:30am. RSVP is mandatory as we fill up quickly.

Good Ol' Fashioned Hoedown
Minimum Age: 14
Join The Right Step, a PATH International certified therapeutic horseback riding organization, for our annual fundraiser. On May 19th, we will turn Coventry Farms into a giant Hoedown styled party complete with good food, music, pony rides, and much much more! We invite everyone in the community to join in the festivities! We need volunteers to support preparations of the event as well as the day of. There are a wide variety of assignments including, greeting guests, transporting them from the parking lot to the barn, assisting the Silent Auction, vendor fair, food, beverages and much more. With so many different positions, we can find a good fit for pretty much anyone and everyone interested in helping make this day a success. You can volunteer solo or bring a whole group of family/friends/coworkers.
