Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
To improve the lives of people with disabilities through the healing power of horses. The Right Step uses horses as partners in therapeutic riding.
Horses Helping PeopleWe work 360 days a year with riders with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities ages 2-93 how to ride horses. We work on improving balance, strength, fine motor skills, confidence, decision making, social skills and so much more during each lesson. We need volunteers to help with Horse Leading and Side Walking in the lessons as well as much more outside of the lessons like office work, marketing, fundraising, etc. We host trainings the 2nd Saturday of every month 8:00-11:30am. RSVP is mandatory as we fill up quickly.
