Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
To strengthen individuals with special needs, their families, and our communities by providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions using equine-assisted activities.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Volunteer Opportunities

Horse Leader/Sidewalker
Minimum Age: 14
We are always in need of program volunteers during our operating season, March-November. These volunteers are critical in making our lessons feasible and safe for our participants. Horse leaders control the horse during therapeutic riding lessons, and sidewalkers walk beside the rider, providing support.

Summer Camp Volunteer
Minimum Age: 18
Throughout the summer, we periodically hold week-long summer camps. Camps typically run in the mornings for half days, and include both unmounted and mounted activities. We require a 1:1 volunteer:participant ratio, so look for volunteers to be a participant's 'buddy' throughout the week. 2014 dates are July 14-18, July 28-Aug 1, August 11-15, and an all-day camp August 18-22.
