Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
EquiCenter's purpose is to foster the personal growth and achievement of people with disabilities, at-risk youth, Veterans, and their families using a wide range of therapeutic equestrian activities.


Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.

Volunteer Opportunities


Special Event Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Serve on a committee to help plan our fundraising events or work as a volunteer on the day of an event.

Maintenance Crew
Minimum Age: 14
Assist with light-carpentry, repairing fences, grooming trails, and maintaining landscaped areas.​

Office Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Assist with needs such as newsletter production, photocopying, office organization, making phone calls, and graphic design.

Gardening Crew
Minimum Age: 14
Help preserve our perennial gardens that add to the beautiful & peaceful setting for program participants

Barn Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Assist with grooming and saddling horses for lessons. Provide help with horse-care related needs such as cleaning stalls, clean and replenish shavings in horse sheds, clean water troughs, and general barn responsibilities

Lesson Volunteers
Minimum Age: 14
Assist during therapeutic horseback riding lessons as a side-walker or horse leader.
