Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The mission of Refuge Services is to enhance individual, family, and group functioning by providing opportunities to develop skills for solving problems, overcoming obstacles, and reaching individual as well as group goals.rnrnRefuge Services, Inc. is a public, non-profit providing services for the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. We are a Christian based organization providing equine-assisted therapies to individuals of all ages. Refuge Services provides Hippotherapy, Therapeutic riding, and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy to over 150 clients per week in Lubbock and the surrounding communities with over 80% of the clients served being between 2-18 years of age. We conducted over 6000 client hours in 2011, and over 6400 hours of therapy in 2012 for We provide a therapeutic setting for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, or licensed mental health professionals to come together to incorporate horses into their treatment plan.


Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Public Service

Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of horses.
