Priceless Grand Prize offered to Winner of carrots4acause Team Fundraising at the Winter Equestrian Festival

WELLINGTON, FL - January 18, 2011 - The EQUUS Foundation is pleased to announce the details of its carrots4acause team fundraising program at the Winter Equestrian Festival. Sponsored by Alessandro Albanese, Georgetown Stable Outfitters and Gracie Street Interior Design, the team that raises the most funds between now and Friday, March 4, 2011, will select a rider from the team to perform with the professional riders at the Fete Cheval on Friday, March 11, 2011.

The EQUUS Foundation, Inc., raises its funds almost entirely from event attendance - with the objective of securing homes and useful lives for horses, enhancing the lives of people who benefit from horses, advancing the equestrian sport, and educating the public on the important role horses have in our everyday lives.

Carrots4acause, launched by the Foundation this past September, consists of an online network and programs to stimulate social activism and volunteerism in support of horses. It is an exciting way to get connected to, and get involved with all things equine-related. Why the name, carrots4acause? All horses love carrots, and the carrot is a universal symbol of enticement and reward.

"We hope that the equestrians competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival will get involved with our carros4acause team fundraising program", said Lynn Coakley, President, The EQUUS Foundation. "We sincerely appreciate the support of Alessandro Albanese, Georgetown Stable Outfitters and Gracie Street Interior Design. It's easy to participate. First, form and name a team - a team can be one individual or a group of individuals. Then, stop by "The Gracie Street Corner at the Alessandro Albanese Boutique" on the show grounds of the Winter Equestrian Festival to pick up the sign up information and fundraising tools in the Bit Box donated by Georgetown Stable Outfitters. The deadline is Friday, March 4, 2011.

The Fete Cheval, is a unique fundraising event sponsored by The EQUUS Foundation and co-chaired by Elizabeth Press, Clea Newman Soderlund, and Visse Wedell, featuring cocktails, an auction, and dinner in the Special Events Tent of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, but the highlight of the evening will be the gymkhana games in the International Grand Prix Arena with some of the world's top riders. Ralph Caristo, Leo Conroy, and a guest from the audience will "judge" the competitors. Mason Phelps, Jr., will emcee the event.

Fete Cheval riders include Max Amaya, Pablo Barrios, John Brennan, Molly Ashe Cawley, Nick Dellojoio, Mario Deslauriers, Hillary Dobbs, Kent Farrington, Sandy Ferrell, Brianne Goutal, Patricia Griffith, Charlie Jayne, Laura Kraut, Beezie Madden, Bert Mutch, Kate Oliver, Rodrigo Pessoa, Peter Pletcher, Kim Prince, Havens Schatt, Louise Serio, Ken Smith, Shane Sweetnam, Jimmy Torano and McLain Ward.

Tables of eight for the Fete Cheval are available as follows: Gold Medal Front Row Center $5,000; Silver Medal Front Row $3,200 and Bronze Medal Second Row $2,400.
