Nora is a 13 year old TB mare who has some arthritis in her knees from conformation difficulties she was born with - (pigeon-toed). When we originally rescued her, we started training her as she seemed very green for her age. We spent almost two years training her and she became a very good riding horse. She learned to become balanced and follow ques for walk, trot and canter. We noticed, however, that she would become lame after being ridden and had our vet do a series of x-rays. That is when we found her arthritis in her knees. We then advertised her as a companion only horse. A lady named Claire, came to meet her one day this summer and fell in love with her. Claire had two geldings and wanted a companion to stay at the barn with her one gelding while she rode her other gelding. Claire came to visit Nora every week during till the application was approved. Once approved Claire procured a transporter to take Nora to her new home. She had already prepared her stall and pasture for Nora and purchased all the necessary items for Nora's care and comfort. She was extremely excited. When Nora arrived to her new home, Claire's geldings welcomed her and they formed a little herd of three within minutes. One of the geldings and Nora even groomed each other over the stall door. She fit in just fine and they are a happy little family.
